Marching Band
Marching Band (MB):
Student Marching Band Rules:
- All Symphonic Band students are required to participate in Marching Band
- Norse and Concert band students are welcome to join if approved by band director
- Performs during months of October, November, December, April, and May
- Expectations:
- Attend after-school marching band practices
- Attend all band reviews (5 per year on average)
- Perform at Benicia Downtown Parade (December)
Student Marching Band Rules:
- Be dressed in black Dinkles and plain black socks that's at least calf high. No ankle socks. Skin should not be exposed. Shoes will be shined and be ready for band reviews. Underneath the marching pants, students must wear a plain white short-sleeved T-shirt with no prints.
- Boys hair must not touch the jacket tops [EXAMPLE]. Girls hair must be up in a bun with no fly-aways [High Bun Tutorial Link]. Back must be gelled and pinned up, which will be covered by the Shako.
- No one is to touch the Shako plumes, except a trained volunteer with gloves, is allowed to touch the Shako plumes.
- There is to be no make-up, fingernail polish or jewelry.
- Wear blue band shirt when not in uniform.
